Site Migration

In the process of moving the site to a new hosting provider – bear with me. Still working on moving the images, they’ll start cropping up over the next few days.

Who did you go with, Ian?

Ended up going with MediaTemple – annual prepay and a 20% off coupon made that a no-brainer (gs for $13 a month? hello!). I dunno if I’ll be able to put CDNBuilder on [gs], though. Might have to make some architectural changes.

Well, that is affirming to me. All of my sites are hosted with them to! Its a good feeling to see that you came to the same conclusion. I’ve been really happy with the Gird Service for most of my sites. I’ll be anxious to hear if it can stand up to something like what you are building with CDN Builder.

The challenge with CDNBuilder is needing to install a non-trivial number of PHP libraries that aren’t part of the normal set… On the other hand, perhaps the API portion can live at MT. Or eventually upgrade to one of the dedicated virtual plans – but I like the scalability of the grid service.
